A passion that keeps growing
As the dust settled after World War 1 Ferdinando Michelin took a wager that he could not a develop a business manufacturing bicycle components. Fortunately in 1919, he won the wager and formed the company FAC Michelin. The nature of the bicycle components also meant that the company had to design the machinery that is used in their manufacturer. Miche continue with both activities today.
Italo Michelin joined his father to assist with the rapid expansion that the company enjoyed. Italo is still the company president, and at 86 year old is winding down his activity,although he can regularly been seen on the shop floor inspecting production. Today, the company is guided by Luigi Michelin, grandson to Ferdinando. The company specialise in the design and manufacture of quality bicycle components using modern process, manufacturing techniques and materials
Miche use the latest CAD/CAM design and robotic manufacturing techniques, but the human touch is never far away with highly qualified passionate bicycle riding engineers keeping their fingers on the pulse of production.
Carbon Fibre, 7005 Alloy and composite materials are all used in the production of Miche components. The company prides itself in putting all the components through rigourous testing procedures before they go to market. Testing is completed in the internal laboratory and by professional teams.
